SPT Podcast #49 - L.A. Noire

Phelps, Cole Phelps

Rockstar has a habit as of late of not disappointing their fans... whether newbies or die hard fanatics of the company.  The creators boasted that the facial capture for the people in L.A. Noire would be unlike anything a gamer has seen to date.  Whether you enjoy L.A. Noire or not, we think that it was fairly ambitious and enticing.  L.A. Noire has already had a definite impact on the gaming world.

While the much lauded visuals initially turned SPT’s sights on this game... the prospect of being a 1940’s detective (a story that has not been re-hashed to death in the gaming world) is what kept us playing.

Overall, we enjoyed L.A. Noire here at the site.  S, P, and T unanimously agreed that while the visuals of Noire were very impressive, there were still some kinks to work out.  The gameplay was a blast, although some of the missions left us a tad befuddled.  And though the time period did not quite work for Morgan, he did enjoy the game as a whole.

We also discussed Shea’s excitement to finally getting a 100% on Super Meat Boy, as well as the obligatory Pokemon discussion, and Josh’s unabashed love for Bit.Trip.  Any questions or comments?  Send us an e-mail, or leave a comment on the site or the Facebook.  We would love to use any thoughts on the show as listener feedback.  Thanks for listening!  SPT out!
